The Artists That Get Me “In The Mood”

As most of you know, many writers can be found punching away at their masterpieces while bopping their heads to some tunes. I’m one of them. In fact, I pretty much can’t write without music unless I’m trying to plot something out, and even then, I sometimes need a little “mood music” to get my juices flowing.

I consider us multi-tasking geniuses because…well, quite simply, I sound way smart πŸ™‚

I don’t know about other writers, but my muse is a moody bitch and she has a select few artists she always goes to in order to get the vibes going.

Here’s a few of her top Go-To Artists that put her in the mood:

Special note about Halestorm: Their song Familiar Taste Of Poison actually had a huge influence on the creation of Guardian Of Fate, and I often go back to it if I’m ever stuck on a scene. Check it out:

Avril Lavigne

Of course, there are other random songs that come around and strike the mood as well, but these are the ones that me & the muse always tend to fall back on.

What about you? Do you have Go-To Artists that you tend to fall back on in your daily lives? Any that get you in the mood for a particular task?

Well, now that I’ve got Halestorm going in my ears, I’m off to write more on Angel Of Fate. I’m in the mood!

Later dudes!

I’m one of those writers who can’t listen to music when I write, unless it’s instrumental. I like things like Celtic harp, flute, mandolin, etc. More frequently though, I just have silence.

I do like many of your song choices though. Hope they’ve got your muse fired up and inspired!

I actually have times where I get distracted with the words of the songs and play a little Philip Wesley. I love the sounds of a piano and he plays beautifully!

      Thanks for coming by hon!

I would be lost without music. It’s helped me come up with fresh ideas and characters I can’t imagine ever not knowing.
“Familiar Taste of Poison” is an epic song!
I love that your muse is a moody bitch. πŸ™‚
