Puppies, Drool Time, & Dance Machines

I’ve come to the realization that my time management skills are…well…non-existent. I know there are hordes of workshops for this, but I just don’t seem to have the time for them. See what I mean?!

This past week has been filled with all work and no play, and I feel like I’ve accomplished nothing significant. The day job takes up most of my days, and my nights have been monopolized by a 13wk old energetic Plott Hound named Thor (our new addition).photo 2photo 1

Don’t let the cute pics fool you. We are convinced Satan sent him.

So, this post is an intervention. I’m taking back my playtime, and I have lots to look forward to. Here’s a look:

Yes, I’m finally getting my drool on and going to see Thor 2: The Dark World. I’ve been anticipating seeing this movie for months, and me and the girls are making a night of it! Woo hoo!

I also have my very first WisRWA meeting next Saturday. WisRWA is the Wisconsin chapter of Romance Writers Of America. I get to meet all kinds of great writing/author peeps, pick their brains, and sit in on some much needed advice from some great authors. I can’t wait, and I’ll be sure to let you all know how that goes.

I’m also going to get back into the writing groove. No longer will I allow my WIP to take a backseat. Even if I have to handcuff myself to my writing desk and lock the doors so no hubbies, 7yr olds, or devil-dog pups can get to me. Angel Of Fate WILL prevail!

I’ll be going back to my Tae Kwon Do lessons too. Maybe not this week, but in the next few weeks. It’s my time away, gives me a great workout, and I get to hang with some awesome kick-ass people too!

Kind of sounds like New Year’s Resolutions, doesn’t it?

Well, that’s what’s going on in my world. What’s happening in yours? Got anything exciting to look forward to?

I’ll leave you with this awesome video of my little Dancing Machine. He lit it up at a Tae Kwon Do banquet we went to on Saturday night. I never knew he had so many moves! (He’s in the white T-shirt and khakis – had to lose the button down because he was a dancing sweaty mess!) You have to link to it because it was too big for the post. Oh, and it’s sideways…blame hubby.

Little Man Dance Machine

Later dudes!

I’m loving your newest family member’s name. πŸ™‚
Sideways, lol. He does have great moves.
I’m so bad for working on my WIP. Everything else seems to come before it and I was meant to have it released by now! I have friends home from London at the end of the month, so that’s what I’m most looking forward to right now.

Thanks, Emma. Hubby allowed me to name him πŸ™‚
Isn’t it horrible how we put everything else before the WIP? So shameful! I hope you have a great visit with your friends!

Your newest addition looks angelic and cuddly in those photos. So hard to imagine he turns into a terror at night πŸ™‚

Loved the dance vid (even if I did have to tilt my head to the side to watch it). Looks like everyone had fun.

I think for time management to really work the way we want it to we need to clone ourselves. That way one part can always be working on the WIP when the other is dealing with the day job and home stuff (and even Jekyll/Hyde puppies named Thor) πŸ™‚

Thanks Mae! You’re totally right! Clones are in demand! Just think of all the things we could accomplish! Like poop patrol! That alone is incentive enough!
